Hi, I’m Dakota, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Called to Go is more than a travel blog, it’s a living story of learning to trust God step by step, as I follow Him across cultures, countries, and seasons of the soul.
Someone, over the years, helped me develop a deep longing for both adventure and meaning. Travel has always stirred something in me; the way new places stretch your perspective, the way unfamiliar moments force you to slow down and pay attention. But even deeper than my love for exploring the world is my desire to follow the One who made it.
I started this journey with a simple prayer:
“Lord, where do You want me to go, and what do You want me to do?”
That prayer became a lifestyle, one marked not just by plane tickets and suitcases, but by surrender, listening, and walking in blind obedience.
Right now, I’m living in Italy, soaking in the rhythm of a new culture, learning a lot (sometimes the hard way), and seeing God move in unexpected places. From here, I’m going to be exploring other parts of Europe -places like Scotland, Ireland, Greece, and Germany – each trip an opportunity to meet new people, experience the beauty of creation, and lean a little deeper into trust.
This blog is where I will share that unfolding journey.
You’ll find reflections from the road, lessons learned through detours and delays, glimpses of beauty in far off corners of the world, and the quiet but powerful ways God speaks when we leave space to hear Him.
I don’t always know the next step, but I know the Mapmaker. And I’m learning to walk with Him, one faithful step at a time.
I believe with all my heart that God is able to do the impossible, to open doors we never imagined, to guide us through uncertainties, and to turn what feels like detours into divine appointments. It’s this hope that keeps me moving forward, trusting that every step is part of a bigger, beautiful plan.
As Jesus said,
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26
So whether you’re here to follow along, find inspiration for your own travels, or simply be reminded that God is present wherever you go, thank you for joining me on this stretch of the road.
Here’s to faith-fueled travels, honest stories, and saying yes to wherever He leads.
With grace & gratitude,
Dakota
